A blend of modern and traditional features
Focusing on indoor/outdoor living all on one level and maximizing the views.
These were the requirements and the result is a home designed with weatherboard cladding, gable and hipped roofs that blend with the surrounding heritage houses but with a modern twist.
Extra wide kauri floors are teamed with exposed rafter ceilings and a subtle colour scheme. The home has been designed to maximize the extensive chelsea sugar refinery and upper harbour views. Large glass sliders are found at both ends of the lounge/dining/kitchen space which provides the flow from the outdoor entertaining area through the home to the view to the west. Family area also all open onto the pool and outdoor areas.
Challenges included major excavations to obtain living areas all on one level and providing five car garaging, all on a narrow site. The result is a very open, light and relaxed environment, great for family living.
